Theology
As Christians of the Reformed tradition, we profess that the Bible
is the authoritative word of God. We believe that God's only son, Jesus Christ,
died for all sinners, so that we might have eternal life. We cannot earn such a gift.
It is given to us through grace. As Presbyterians we affirm the right of individual Christians
to ask questions in search of spiritual truth, for we perceive the human mind to be a gift of God.
Although we acknowledge the sinfulness of humankind, we are optimistic that the world can
become a better place. Through the power of the Holy Spirit working our midst,
we strive for social justice and equality.
Sacraments
We affirm the power of baptism as originating with God and therefore baptize
both adults and infants. When we celebrate the sacrament of the Lord's Supper
it is open to all who have been baptized.
Clergy
Presbyterian ministers are graduates of a 3-year seminary program in which they are required
to study the Bible in its original languages, church history, theology, worship, and preaching.
Pastors are called to serve a particular congregation by a vote of the active membership.
Membership
You can join our church by a profession of faith, by a reaffirmation of faith,
or through a transfer of letter from any other church.
