Church Government

The First Presbyterian Church is governed locally by officers who are called elders. Elected by the congregation, these nine elders together with the pastor make up the "Session". Each elder is elected for three years and serves as chairperson of various committees. All church members can serve on one of the committees. As part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), our congregation participates in regional and national denominational gatherings.
